North Pole Travel

North Pole is the famed residence of Santa Claus.  The actual North Pole travel may prove to be a real challenge for humans to visit (most travel operators offer ship cruises only) but there is another North Pole address that you can go to.  It is in North Pole, Alaska which is just 1700 miles south of the actual North Pole.

The distinctively named small town is located just 12 miles south of Fairbanks. To continue the Christmas theme which is closely associated to the place’s name, the city government ask shop owners to adorn Christmas decors and maintain the Christmas ambiance.

A. Tourist Attractions

North Pole travel in Alaska offers, as expected, Christmas all year-round. This place housed the World’s biggest Santa Claus.  The structure towers above its 48 feet height and 33 feet width.  The Kris Kringle is located right next to the Santa Clause House.  These are the most famous attractions of the place.

The Santa Claus House resembles Santa’s toy factory.  You can also see a replica of the North Pole on the left side of Santa’s house.  You can see murals on the outer part of the building.  Prancer, one of Santa’s reindeer, is one of the attractions of the place. During Christmas, you can order a letter made by Santa at the Santa Claus House.

Another tourist spot that you can include in North Pole travel is the Christian TV and Radio Station called KJNP which is short for King Jesus North Pole.  They provide tours within the station.

Another place to see is the Chena River Flood Control Project by the Corps of Engineers.  This spot is located two miles south of North Pole.  They also provide tours to tourists during summer time.

B. Things to Do

Outdoor sports abound during your North Pole travel. Dog sled ride is a popular activity in North Pole.  Depending on the season when you visit, you can fish, sail, kayak or canoe.   You can ski in the Chena Lakes during winter or ride in snowmobile. In summertime, the place is used for swimming or sailing.  They charged a very small entrance fee to guests.

Accommodations

North Pole, Alaska has a hotel with 71 rooms called North Pole Hotel.  Other accommodation options include Beaver Lake Resort and Jolly Acres Motel. There are also some bed and breakfasts operating in the place.

You can avail of Christmas package for North Pole travel where you can stay in the place for a day or two alone or with a group.
North Pole travel certainly does not disappoint the thousands of Christmas fanatics worldwide.
